Calling all Cherry Lovers!

Now is the true cherry season!  Don't let those early cherries in May and June fool you, they are grown in California and at times can be good, but the real season does not begin until July when the Washington state bing cherries are available.  If you are like me and like large crunch, crisp, sweet, mahogany colored cherries then now is the time to buy.

It looks like a good crop in Washington state and good quality cherries may be available into August, but cherries are very fickle and dependent on the weather so enjoy them in July as often as possible.  Check back for more updates as the season continues.

Tony:

What is the best way to store cherries, in the fridge or on the counter? And, how long should they last?

Thanks!
